Aftercare for pets is similar to what is provided for humans when they pass from this world. It refers simply to the care that is given after the soul has passed and the body remains.

Heaven’s Leash has been providing tender and dignified pet aftercare services in the Austin area going into our 15th year. We are a one of a kind professional and compassionate personalized service.
Usually within 2 hours of your phone call to us, we will come to your home and provide the removal of your pets body and can provide a range of services to you. Ranging from simple removal and humane disposition to private cremation services, you are entrusting the care of your beloved pets to individuals who are also loving pet parents who have gone through this loss.
By providing this service, you are able to tend to your own emotions and those of your children and family instead of having to transport your pets remains in your car and reliving the moments by carrying your pet into the hospital after it’s passed away. These are emotional moments and times that you will not have to worry about when that time comes.
Within 7-10 days usually, you will receive another visit from us when we personally deliver to you the ceramic/clay pawprint and your pet’s ashes in an urn of your choice. Depending on the service level you choose, your pets ashes may not be returned but you will receive the pawprint – a loving memorial of your pet – either way.
Additionally, we have partnered with one of the top clinics in town as our home base veterinarian and are able to provide excellent pricing to you for your pet’s aftercare. Click here for pricing and services.
To schedule service, call 512-222-9344. If you receive our voicemail, please don’t just hang up – leave a message with your name, number to call or text, and a message about your pet. We will call you back if unable to answer, usually within a few minutes.
We also have a great set of pet loss resources for you to use during this time. Please feel free to check those out at your leisure. And know that we care for you, have been in your shoes, and the one piece of advice we’ll give here is that the grief you are feeling for the loss of your pet is very real and valid. It’s natural to sense the same amount of grief and its related stages as you would for any other family member.
